Teaching objectives
根据《徐汇区高中英语学科课程教学指南》,阅读教学的目标是指在阅读中通过理解主旨大意、事实细节、推断隐含意义、推导结论、猜测词义等方式获取信息的能力。
结合《徐汇中学高中英语学科模块实施计划(高二年级第二学期目标)》,本单元的阅读教学围绕经典作品的阅读、品读和读者的个人感想这一主题。学生通过学习,学生应当学会如何阅读经典,如何与他人一起品味经典,从而提升自我。
所以,本节阅读课的具体目标为:
l Knowledge objectives: to help students learn some new words and expressions (severe, polish, desperate, aim a blow at); to help students grasp the plot of the story;
l Ability objective: to guide students to understand Oliver’s miserable life and the cruelty of the board by analyzing the language of the story;
l Emotion objective: to arouse students’ sympathy for Oliver and their interest in classics.
